For Colored Girls. . .

So I just got back from seeing the play, For Colored Girls, and I am very unsure on how I feel about it. It started off as all the girls acting as children, with not a care in the world besides dancing and having fun. Slowly it went into them growing up and going through some pretty hard situations. One girl talked about being raped. Another speaking about a bad relationship, having kids and a bad man. All stories about struggles some women go through in life, not by choice. The play said no one asks to be raped or by saying hi means she wants anything, these days being friendly can be changed into something totally different. It talked about all girls not just colored and feelings and the way you act and look. The mood was very dark. I felt uncomfortable after the play and while walking out. It talked about real life situations in a dark, sad, hurt way. I'm still unsure if i would go see it again.

Halloween

Last night my roommates and suitemates all went out for Halloween. We went to my uncles house and were dress up to give out candy. Then we wanted to go Trick or Treating so we started out going house to house with all the little kids. A few gave us candy but most questioned our age! I think you are never to old to get presents on Christmas so why is it different for Halloween? Some people actually did not hand us candy and said we were to old. So after getting about a handful of candy down two streets we went back to the house and kept passing out candy, and there were adults walking with their kids but they had their own bag of candy as well. Next year we will be bringing a little kid with us!
